Point Black’s Artists Secure 6 nominations at the Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards

The Zimbabwe Hip Hop Awards recently released their list of nominees for the 2022 edition of the awards, where two artists on the Point Black roster bagged a total of 6 nominations in total!

Hillzy and RayDizz have enjoyed a stellar year in 2022 as Zimbabwe and the world recover from the COVID 19 outbreak that severely hampered the entertainment industry.

RayDizz earned a well deserved nomination in the Best Club & Event DJ category. The nomination comes after an incredible year in which he secured a deal to supply Apple Music with exclusive DJ mixes, he has opened up for international artists like Rick Ross, Uncle Waffles, Sha Sha, DBN Gogo, Focalistic, Reece & Madlisa, Black Diamond and many more.

RayDizz has also headlined major events such as Braai Out, Fiesta Fiesta and Octoberfest while also securing residencies across Harare’s top clubs such as Karma, Pabloz, Jam Tree, Evitro and more.

Hillzy signed with Point Black earlier this year and has already enjoyed one of his most successful years to date. His videos for Chargie and Muroora both crossed 1,000,000 views shortly before the release of NHARO - a Hip Hop anthem that has taken over the nation. To date the song has managed to become the biggest Hip Hop song in the country based on Audiomack and YouTube rankings. Hillzy’s follow-up single Forever is also enjoying success both locally and abroad.

As a testament to all his hard work and success, Hillzy was able to bag the second most nominations of any artist at the awards. His nominations are in the following categories;

  • Song Of The Year

  • Video and Director of The Year

  • Best Diaspora

  • Best Alternative

  • People’s Choice
